Clarke took a road trip to Oneonta for the Dan Wickham Classic at Unatego, and it was well worth the 220-mile bus ride. The Rams, who have a roster of just 18 wrestlers, entered the 19-team tournament featuring some of the top programs in New York State’s Division II classification and walked away with second place.

East Meadow seniors Matt Power and Michael Tropiano were crowned champions at the Nassau County Qualifying Tournament hosted by Plainedge last Saturday, and nine Jets in all earned bids to this weekend’s Nassau County wrestling championships at Hofstra.

Even the holiday season couldn’t slow down the Clarke Rams on the wrestling mats. Clarke not only had its annual trip to Orlando, FL for the KSA Disney Duals Classic Tournament, just before Christmas, where the team had its best finish in six years with a 4-2 mark, the program also hosted a nine-team dual meet tournament on Dec. 27-28.
