The East Meadow Chamber of Commerce held its 58th Annual Installation Dinner on Friday, Jan. 25 at the Chateau Briand in Carle Place.

The elegant dinner culminated with the installation of Dolores Rome as president, replacing the outgoing Millie Jones. Rome graciously expressed her thanks to the room full of business owners, lauding them for their great service to the community.

The chamber honored Town of Hempstead Supervisor Kate

Murray as the Woman of the Year. Having served as Town Supervisor since 2003, Murray’s administration has won eight consecutive Excellence in Financial Reporting Awards, an award distributed for forthright and honest financial municipal budgeting and reporting. Additionally, her downtown revitalization projects have helped attract new developers and businesses to local communities.

Local dignitaries, including County Legislature Presiding Officer Norma Gonsalves, Assemblyman Tom McKevitt and Town Councilman Gary Hudes swore in the incoming president, board of directors and officers, respectively.

Despite heavy snowfall throughout the evening, the dinner was represented by the entire chamber, exemplifying the dedication and commitment that makes the East Meadow Chamber of Commerce so successful.
