Members of the Division 6 Key Club completed a “doubleheader” of walks on Oct. 24.

The day began early at Jones Beach where the Key Clubbers were joined by Circle K Governor Rickie Santer and Governors Project Chair Lauren Sacks to assist Bowling Green K-Kids Faculty Advisor Rich Santer and Clarke Builders Club Faculty Advisor Jerry Ferarra who supervised their club members during the Foundation Fighting Blindness’ VisionWalk.

Over 25 K-Kids and 6 Builders Club members participated in the VisionWalk. The K-Kids walked in honor of the brother one of the K-Kids who has Leber’s Congenital Amaurosis (LCA).

After completing the VisionWalk, the Division 6 Key Club members, led by Lieutenant Governor Domenick Pesce, an East Meadow High School junior, carpooled to Heckscher State Park.  The Division 6 Key Club joined colleagues from other Long Island divisions for the Buddy Walk to support the National Down Syndrome Society.

Division 2 LTG Stephanie Salinas and Pesce said they were especially pleased by the level of support shown by the participation from their divisions.

After completing their second 5K walk of the day, the volunteers enjoyed an inter-divisional late-afternoon lunch before heading to their respective homes for a nap.
