A useful STOP for the environment

Posted

Hempstead Town Receiver of Taxes Don Clavin greeted Evelyn Brown of East Meadow at the Town of Hempstead STOP Program, which was held in Levittown on July 10. The Stop Throwing Out Pollutants program provides residents with an environmentally sound method to dispose of hazardous household materials such as paint thinners, oil-based paints, fertilizers, bug killers and waste oil. Also accepted at STOP events are items containing mercury, such as old thermostats and compact fluorescent light bulbs.
