East Meadow Kiwanis hosts annual Pancake Breakfast

Posted

The forks did not go cold at East Meadow High School on March 13.

East Meadow Kiwanis provided community members with an all-you-can-eat breakfast to raise money for the club’s scholarship fund at East Meadow and Clarke High Schools, as well as the many ongoing projects that help underprivileged children. For $5 ($3 for children and senior citizens), attendees enjoyed an unlimited amount of pancakes, eggs, sausages, juice, tea and coffee. In addition, a free facepaint and balloon station was available for the kids. For the adults, Dr. Alan Alterman and Dr. Steve Perrick provided free blood pressure screenings.

Financial and material support for this event was provided by Sunrise Assisted Living, Empress Diner, Starbucks, Dan Feldman, Gary Fromowitz, Opthhalmic Consultants of Long Island, Peter Gidicsin and Charles O’Shea Funeral Homes, Alure Home Improvements, Astoria Federal Savings, Jim Jam Cleaners, Complete Orthopedic Services, Beverage Barn, Connelly & Sons Plumbing, Big Chief School and Camp, State Farm Dignam Agency, Municipal Credit Union, Leo F. Kearns Funeral Directors, A&M Supplies Network, Sign-A-Rama, Figarelly’s Delicatessen Caterers and Bagelicious -— all from East Meadow  — and Aramark, Inc. of Syosset.

The co-chairmen of this year’s Pancake Breakfast were Gary Fromowitz and Barry Rubinstein.
