Clarke Red Cross Club earns award

Members of the Red Cross Club, along with their advisor, Shari Zimmerman, from W. Tresper Clarke High School, recently received the “Top School Fundraisers of the 2009 Cross Walk for Local Disaster Relief” award from American Red Cross Youth Coordinator Randall Clarke. This is the second year in a row that Clarke garnered this award. Zimmerman was also awarded a deluxe personal safety pack for her leadership in the school’s club.

The club members raised $1,190 for the American Red Cross last April by participating in a “cross walk,” and also made 50 “friendship boxes” to be distributed by the American Red Cross to children who have lost their homes to fires and other disasters.
