Police: Man pays Target with fake money
A Queens resident allegedly paid for electronic equipment at Target in Westbury with counterfeit money, police said.


According to detectives, Malek Harrison, 24, went to Target, 999 Corporate Drive, on May 24 and bought multiple electronics with counterfeit $100 bills. He returned a short time later and again purchased more electronics with additional counterfeit bills, they said. The store lost approximately $1,000.


Police said Harrison surrendered to detectives and was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument. He was arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on June 11.

Man robs TD Bank
An unidentified man robbed TD Bank in on Brush Hollow Road in Westbury on June 1, police said. Authorities said the man was in his late 20s and is about under six-feet tall. Witness said he was wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, a dark tie and a New York Yankees baseball cap.


Police said the robber approached a teller and demanded cash. The teller complied and the suspect fled heading south with an undetermined about of money. Detectives said nine employees and one customer were in the bank at the time of the incident.


Police are asking anything with information regarding the crime to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.

Crime Report:

  • A vehicle parked on Hudson Street was reported missing. The car went missing from the East Meadow location some time between June 4 and June 5.
  • The Red Box machine outside 7/11 on Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow was damaged some time between June 3 and June 4.
  • A residential window on Front Street in East Meadow was damaged with a BB Gun some time between June 2 and June 6.
