Robbery Squad detectives continue to investigate a bank robbery that took place in East Meadow last Saturday at about 10:33 a.m.

Detectives described the potential suspect as a white male between 30 and 40 years old, about six feet tall with a thin build, and wearing a blue sweat suit, blue baseball hat and dark sunglasses at the time of the incident, which occurred at the Citibank on Merrick Avenue in East Meadow.

In a note passed to a teller, the suspect demanded money, police said. When the teller complied, cops said the suspect then placed the money into a white and blue canvass bag and fled in an unknown direction.

Detectives said they ask anyone with information on the bank robbery to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous, they said.

People named in Crime Watch items as having been arrested and charged with violations or crimes are only suspected of committing those acts of which they are accused. They are all presumed to be innocent of those charges until and unless found guilty in a court of law.
