EMFD volunteers responded to a fire on Spruce Lane in East Meadow.

The East Meadow Fire Department responded to a working fire at 358 Spruce Lane in East Meadow just before 5 a.m. Friday morning.

Witnesses said heavy flames went through the attic and the roof of the home. Helicopters few overhead, as crews continued to fight the fire and clean up the scene throughout the morning, witnesses said.
