East Meadow Public Library Animé Convention

Friday, June 10 Animé Movie Marathon starting at 3 p.m.

East Meadow Public Library is proud to present their first Animé Convention EMcom. All are welcome. Admission is free.

The library’s event begins on Friday June 10 at 3 p.m. with an Animé Movie Marathon.

The movie schedule is as follows:

3 p.m. Bleach Movie 1: Memories of Nobody

5 p.m. Dragon Ball Z: Coolers Return

7 p.m. Death Note: The Last Name (live-action movie)

Saturday, June 11 Day of Animé Programs starting at 11 a.m. Animé all day! Join us for CosPlay, DDR, Martial Arts, prizes and more.

The Program schedule is as follows:

11 a.m. Learn How to Draw Animé: A hands-on workshop with Animé artists Kelly Gordon and Jen Scrimenti.

11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.: Marvel Vs. Capcom / DDR Dance Dance Revolution Tournament There will be a break from 12:30 to 2 p.m. and then play will resume. Play and compete against others or computer! Beat the highest score! Win a Prize!!! (6th Graders and up, in the YA Room)

12:30 p.m. – Grand Master J. Two Owls Teasley – When the Eagle Meets the Dragon: A martial arts demonstration and workshop with a Grand Master. This will include Grand Master Teasley’s Drunken Tai Chi Sword.

1:30 p.m. – Ninja: Fact vs. Fantasy: Take an in-depth look into the reality and lore behind the spies and assassins of ancient Japan with Manga historian Joe Liotta.

2:30 p.m. -- Villikon Chronicles: Return to Mayhem with Rebecca Friedman (AKA Zanny Lane): is the founder of Graphic Animé. Also director and animator of Villikon Chronicles: Return to Mayhem, created and written by Bryan Kinnaird. The animated feature will be screened along with a discussion and Q&A. Ms. Friedman is also the writer and illustrator of a new Manga series Lovely Demon: Demonic- Reaper Chronicles.
