Girl Scouts awards presentation

On Jan. 9, at Temple B’nai Torah of Wantagh, East Meadow’s Amanda Lev, a Nassau County member of the Nation Jewish Committee on Girl Scouting, Inc., presented eight Brownie Girl Scouts with their Lehavah awards and 10 junior Girl Scouts with their Bat Or awards. The girls, who are from Oceanside, Plainview, Levittown, Wantagh, East Meadow, Bellmore, Franklin Square, Seaford, Syosset, Massapequa and North Massapequa, attended a three-session workshop with a family member under the leadership of Lev and Cadette Girl Scout Reanna Sacks.

Topics included were: family, religion, Torah, history, heritage and their relationship to Girl Scouting. To date, this program is responsible for more than 150 girls on the South Shore receiving their awards.
