The East Meadow Chamber of Commerce and East Meadow Kiwanis Club celebrated a successful year of business, charity and prosperous relationships at their annual holiday party, at which The East Meadow Chamber of Commerce presented the donations to the four beneficiaries of their Culinary Delights fundraiser.

Rosemary Basmajian and Lyndsey Gallagher co-chaired the foodie fundraiser this September at the Carltun in Eisenhower Park. Guests tasted food from a variety of local restaurants and businesses while raising $1,870 for America’s VetDogs, $2,502 for Nassau University Medical Center’s Pediatric Department, $3,910 for the East Meadow Kiwanis Club’s Kamp Kiwanis and $1,512 for the Nassau/Suffolk Autism Society.

On Dec. 10 at Aura Light and Sound Suite in East Meadow, representatives from the charities accepted the donations, including Karman Pun, the philanthropy officer of America’s VetDogs, Linda Walsh, of NUMC, Gary Fromowitz, the president of the East Meadow Kiwanis and Suzanne Reek, the executive director of the Nassau/Suffolk Autism Society.

In total, Culinary Delights yielded nearly $10,000 for local charities.
