Several members of the East Meadow Fire Department, including Chief Thomas Tergesen, responded to a basement fire in Uniondale on Nov. 24 at a home on Locust Avenue, just west of the Meadowbrook State Parkway border with East Meadow.

Several members of the East Meadow Fire Department, including Chief Thomas Tergesen, responded to a basement fire in Uniondale on Nov. 24 at a home on Locust Avenue, just west of the Meadowbrook State Parkway border with East Meadow.
No injuries were reported.
The fire was reported just before 8 a.m. Along with East Meadow, the Hempstead, Roosevelt, Westbury, South Hempstead and North Bellmore Fire Departments also assisted the Uniondale Fire Department in getting the fire under control.
