Grammy nominated children’s performer visits East Meadow library

Grammy nominee children’s performer Brady Rymer and The Little Band that Could will be performing at the East Meadow Public Library July 29 at 7 p.m. for their “Love Me for Who I Am” album tour.

According to a New York Times review, Rymer’s music “has a rock ‘n’ roll heart,” bringing a joyful and honest spirit through American culture. Although his music is targeted towards children, it has an inspirational sound and message that appeals to everyone.

Rymer says, “The songs can be heard as anthems for differently-abled children and their families. At the same time, every child will find something to relate to in this collection.” He calls the album “songs celebrating children with all abilities,” and hopes that it will shed light on children with disabilities, particularly Autism, and how similar we all are regardless of disables.

Five percent of the proceeds from album sales are donated to Autism Speaks, the largest autism science and advocacy organization in the country dedicated to raising money for research of the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for autism, as well as increasing awareness of “autism spectrum disorders,” and representing people with autism and their families.

The library urges all families to buy tickets, which go on sale Friday, July 15 online at eastmeadow.info or at the library public relations office, 1886 Front Street in East Meadow at 9 a.m. and again at 6 p.m. Only East Meadow school district residents will be able to purchase tickets on the first day of sale.
