Senate campaign headquarters open

Senator Kemp Hannon and opposing candidate Ryan Cronin both recently opened their headquarters. Hannon chose Garden City as his base during the upcoming election and Cronin went with a location in East Meadow.

Cronin said he chose East Meadow as his organizing point because it’s a central location and he views East Meadow as an important swing area in November. His headquarters, located on Front Street near Hempstead Turnpike, opened on Aug. 25, an event that drew community leaders, campaign volunteers and Cronin’s friends and family.

A few days later, Hannon officially opened his headquarters located on Franklin Avenue between 6th and 7th streets. “The official opening of this campaign serves as the commencement of an invigorating part of our Democratic process,” Hannon said in a statement. “Campaign season is a terrific opportunity for me to meet with our district’s residents, share stories, as well as concerns, and work with the terrific people of this district to guarantee that their voices are heard.”

Cronin, D-Garden City, is looking to unseat Hannon, a Republican representing the Sixth Senate District, which includes part of East Meadow and Westbury.
