On Stage

Cabaret
1930s Berlin comes to Hofstra University in the form of the popular musical. Both a theatrical masterpiece and an edgy political commentary, Cabaret has long been considered one of the greatest musicals of the 20th century. Set at the sultry Kit Kat Klub in Berlin, a decadent eye in the midst of the political and economic storm that set the stage for Hitler’s rise to power, Cabaret depicts the intertwined stories of an American cabaret singer and the denizens of Berlin who are caught in a tumultuously changing society.
Friday and Saturday, Oct. 22-23, 8 p.m.; Sunday, Oct. 24, 2 p.m. $15, $12 seniors and students. Members of the Hofstra community receive two free tickets upon presentation of a current HofstraCard. Hofstra University’s John Cranford Adams Playhouse, South Campus, Hempstead. (516) 463-6644.
