Man busted for allegedly selling police shields at Bellmore Flea Market

An East Meadow man was arrested on Sunday at the Bellmore Flea Market for allegedly selling police shields.

According to Nassau County police, on the afternoon of Sept. 10, police responded to a report of a man selling shields, at the flea market on Pettit Avenue. Officers found a table covered in replica shields from various police agencies.

Also for sale were police patches, a jacket and various fire department and EMS uniforms, according to police.

Howard Kaminowitz, 67, of Cadillac Drive, was arrested without incident. He was charged with criminal sale of a police uniform, and was scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 25, according to police.
