Meet the East Meadow school board candidates

Three-year term:
Joseph Parisi (unopposed)
   
Parisi's second stint on the school board has been a short one, after he was appointed to a temporary position last July following the resignation of Diana DeVito. The candidate seeks to extend his presence on the board for at least another three years, as he runs unopposed.
  
Parisi's history of involvement in the community goes beyond his time on the school board. He is the president of the Council of East Meadow Community Organizations, or CEMCO, a conglomerate of groups and individuals that meets monthly to discuss issues facing the community. He has been its president for the last 101years and a member since 1989.

   
Parisi, a director for the Citi corporation, has lived in East Meadow since 1982. He and his wife, Grace, have four children, all of whom have attended East Meadow schools. He is an assistant scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop No. 362. Parisi is also a member of the Community Association of Stewart Avenue.
   
As a trustee, Parisi currently serves on the East Meadow School District's Business and Technology Committee.
