Last Saturday, the Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre at Eisenhower Park featured the musical talents of the popular group, Plain White T’s, and singer-songwriter, Sara Bareilles. The concert, sponsored by Fresh 102.7 radio station, was free, and fans lined the theatre to take in the summer air and listen to the music.

But Eisenhower Park wasn’t finished providing the community with free, fun events. On Sunday, the Lakeside Theatre hosted Children’s Day, an event filled with rides, face paint, cotton candy, and other activities for the whole family to enjoy. Plaza Theatrical Productions performed “Disney Camp Rock,” inviting the kids to sing along to some of their favorite songs.

The Lakeside Theatre will host Family Movie Nights on Thursdays at dusk beginning Aug. 1, continuing until Aug. 22. Families are invited down to see free, family-friendly films like Ice Age: Continental Drift (Aug. 1), Rise of the Guardians (Aug. 8), Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days (Aug. 15), and Parental Guidance (Aug. 22).
