Pumpkins for Prevention at Barnum Woods

Posted

During the month of October, Student Council members at Barnum Woods Elementary School in East Meadow dedicated their efforts to raising money for the March of Dimes Campaign for Healthier Babies.

The students decorated pumpkins and sold them for one dollar each, a project that the Barnum Woods Student Council has undertaken for nearly 20 years. This year, the students raised a total of $617, which will be donated to the March of Dimes to help in their efforts towards the prevention premature births.

In addition, first grader Peter Cipriano and third graders Isabella Cipriano, Emily Robbins, and Hailey Edelman raised $40 for the cause by selling their decorated pumpkins to neighbors and at a soccer game.
