Karin Simonian, a senior at W. T. Clarke High School, signed on a letter of intent on Feb. 2 to play soccer for the University of Notre Dame on scholarship.

Notre Dame women’s soccer coach Randy Waldrum announced the signing of Simonian and five other student-athletes on Feb. 3. “Karin is a dynamic little midfield player,” Waldrum said. “She is so gifted technically with the ball, and has a quickness that makes her hard to defend.”

Simonian, a midfielder, also plays travel soccer for the Albertson Fury, which competes in the ECNL. Top Drawer Soccer, a national club and college soccer website, ranked Simonian No. 7 among national club soccer players, and the No. 4 midfielder in the country. Simonian also played for the Long Island Fury, an amateur team in the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL).

She lives in Salisbury with her parents, Rehan and Alex and her sister, Dina.
