On the heels of their recent sold-out show at the Beacon Theatre, Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi introduce their new ensemble, Tedeschi Trucks Band, to fans on Long Island, when they perform at Tilles Center, on Friday, Oct. 14, at 8 p.m.

As husband-wife couples go in the world of music, it is a challenge to find a duo as well-fitted and naturally prolific as that of singer/guitarist Susan Tedeschi and guitarist Derek Trucks. They are both heavily steeped in the blues tradition, yet open to far-ranging influences including rock, gospel, jazz, and world music. Tedeschi and Trucks have each shared stages with legends including Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, Carlos Santana, and Herbie Hancock, and they often perform together with the Allman Brothers Band – which Trucks joined full time in 1999.

Now they have joined forces as a true musical family, writing and recording with their new 11-piece ensemble, Tedeschi Trucks Band. The group just released Revelator, an album Rolling Stone describes as a “masterpiece,” that echoes many great traditions — Delta blues and Memphis soul, ‘60s rock and ‘70s funk — blended with an entirely original, modern sensibility.

Tickets are $75, $55 and $39.50; available at (800) 745-3000 or www.ticketmaster.com or www.tillescenter.org.
