After postponing the long-awaited event, the East Rockaway Car Show and the Chamber of Commerce hosted a fundraiser for Camp Anchor on Monday, featuring dozens of antique and classic cars, a DJ, 50/50 raffle, Chinese auction and a waitress service from Villa Maria Restaurant for car owners. All proceeds go to Camp Anchor in Point Lookout.

According to Event Coordinator Rich Cittadino, the event was a tremendous success. with $ 2,500.00 raised that will be donated to the Point Lookout camp.

“I want to thank everyone for their help and support, said Cittadino. “We couldn’t have done this without the Village Board and the Chamber of Commerce. Also, Collision Depot in Oceanside, my wife Donna for her support, Kim Salerno for her hard work, and the 90 plus car owners. Also, Villa Maria did a great job feeding our hungery car owners!”

The East Rockaway Car Show will continue on Monday nights through August 26, and donations to Camp Anchor can still be made by calling Cittadino at (516) 428-4917.
