Spirit shines bright at Lynbrook Homecoming

Lynbrook High School hosted its annual PTA Scholarship Homecoming Game on Sept. 24 in front of a packed crowd.

Though Lynbrook suffered its first defeat of the season, a 10-7 loss to Floral Park, the event included a full day of activities showcasing school spirit. Prior to the game, there was a parade that stretched from Lynbrook High School to the Santo J. Barbarino Athletic Complex. Homecoming queen Deanna DiCosimo took part in the march, while her king, Owls running back Nick Paris, prepared for the game.

All proceeds at the gate and from food and T-shirt sales went toward scholarships for graduating seniors.

“It was a well-attended event,” Lynbrook High School Athletic Director Tom Graham said. “We always want to win, but I think it was a good, hard-fought game and I think overall it went well.”
