Seasonal Festivities

Oktoberfest Celebration
Enjoy a taste of Bavaria at the Garden City Hotel’s Oktoberfest. The hotel’s Rein restaurant has planned a grand celebration to commemorate the German festival’s 200th year. An elegant three-hour buffet dinner will follow a one-hour pre-reception with unlimited offerings of authentic Oktoberfest cuisine, designed by Belgian Master Chef Steven De Bruyn. The festive atmosphere will be complete with autumnal decorations, lederhosen clad servers and live ensemble playing traditional German music. The evening begins in the hotel’s English garden, which, for one night, becomes a traditional biergarten. Guests will then move to the Grand Salon with entertainment by Bernie’s Oktoberfest Orchestra, complete with Alpine horn.
Friday, Oct. 1, 6-10 p.m. Tickets for the open-seated event are available by pre-booking through Thursday, Sept. 30 for $47 per person plus tax and 15 percent gratuity; $55 person, evening of event. Reservations suggested. Garden City Hotel, 45 Seventh St., Garden City. (516) 877-9385.
