An Oceanside woman was arrested last Saturday and charged with grand larceny for allegedly stealing $10,000 worth of assorted jewelry, silver items and cash from her East Rockaway employer.

Detectives from the Nassau County Police Department’s 4th Squad reported the arrest of Mirjana Cindric, 30, of Foxdale Avenue, in connection with incidents they say occurred between Nov. 28 and Feb. 13. Cindric, the detectives allege, took the jewelry, silver and money while employed as a babysitter at a residence on Main Street.

On Feb. 16, Crimes Against Property Squad detectives assisted in the recovery of the jewelry and silver from A&A Goldbuyer in East Meadow, IC Gold/OK Pawn Brokers in Baldwin and Enterprise Pawn Brokers in Elmont. All of the items that were recovered belonged to the East Rockaway victims.

Fourth Squad detectives arrested Cindric in front of her home. She had two stolen credit cards and an OK Pawn Brokers loan receipt for a diamond ring that belonged to her former employers, police said.

Cindric was charged with third-degree grand larceny and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. She was arraigned on Sunday in First District Court in Hempstead.
