Police report for East Rockaway, Lynbrook

Arrests

On On Sept. 19 at 5:42 p.m., a thiry-year-old East Rockaway woman was arrested for robbery at ERK Laundromat at 260 Atlantic Avenue in East Rockaway. According to police, Stillwaggon took a wallet from a Laundromat table and slapped the complainant in the face when the victim tried to get the wallet back.

On Sept. 28 at 3:52 p.m., a 20-year-old Merrick woman was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana on Newton Avenue in Lynbrook.

On Oct. 2 at 12:20 a.m., a 25-year-old Bay Shore woman was arrested for aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle on Ocean Avenue in Lynbrook.

On Oct. 3 at 1:30 p.m., a forty-year-old Bronx man was arrested for false personation at Sunrise Highway and Reyam Road in Lynbrook.

Auto accident

A 56-year-old male driver of a 2003 Chevrolet struck a tree after trying to avoid a dog in the roadway at Williamson Street and Fifth Avenue in East Rockaway on Sept. 15 at 4:18 p.m. According to police, the driver was transported to South Nassau Communities Hospital in Oceanside, where he was pronounced dead.

Auto criminal mischief

A complainant discovered one of the windows of his 2001 Chrysler broken and the taillight was cracked while parked on First Avenue in East Rockaway on Sept 6 at 8 a.m.

On Sept. 10 at 3 p.m., the windows of a 2002 Ford pickup truck were smashed while parked on Main Street in East Rockaway.

On Sept. 14 at 6:30 p.m., a 2010 Ford van was keyed across the driver’s side while parked on Main Street and Cammerer Avenue in East Rockaway.

On Sept. 21 at 10 p.m., a front tire was slashed on a 2000 Chevy parked on First Avenue in East Rockaway.

An unknown person damaged a complainant’s 2007 Toyota Camry by jumping on top of the vehicle and scratching a number onto the hood in Village of East Rockaway parking field #1 at Sept. 26 at 2 a.m.

Robbery

On Sept. 26 at 8:15 p.m., a victim reported to police that two male suspects robbed him of $80,000 and a cell phone on Horton Avenue in Lynbrook. According to police, the suspects are described as a Hispanic and black male, 30 years old, 5’10” with a medium build. The case is being investigated by Nassau County Robbery Squad.
