Crime Watch: Lynbrook, East Rockaway

Arrests
On Oct. 20 at 9:22 a.m., a 25-year-old Franklin Square woman was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation in the second degree, aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree (warrant) and improper left turn on Ocean Avenue in Lynbrook.
On Oct. 21 at 2:32 p.m., a 24-year-old Lynbrook man was arrested and charged On Oct. 22 at 6:00 p.m., a 29-year-old Lynbrook man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an auto accident on Hodson Avenue in Lynbrook.

Assault

At 6:05 p.m. on Oct. 15, a 19-year-old Lynbrook man was assaulted by two unknown males in the rear of a property on Atlantic Avenue in Lynbrook. According to police, the first subject was described as a Hispanic male, late teens, 5’11” tall, short dark hair, dark complexion wearing blue jeans and a black shirt. The second subject was described as a Hispanic male, late teens, 5’7” tall, pale complexion wearing blue jeans a grey T-shirt and black Nike sneakers. Both subjects the left scene in a green Jeep on Forest Avenue in Lynbrook.

Attempted burglary
Between 9:55 a.m. and 8:15 p.m. on Oct. 15, a rear window was damaged at 4 Curtis Place in Lynbrook. According to police, no entry was gained into the residence.
Between 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 19 and 9:15 a.m. on Oct. 20, a rear window was damaged at 8 Madison Street in Lynbrook. According to police, no entry was gained into the residence.

Criminal mischief
On Oct. 17 at 7:15 p.m., the owner of a 2011 Honda Civic reported to the Lynbrook Police Department that two of their tires were slashed while the car was parked on Winter Street in Lynbrook According to police, the tires were damaged on Sept. 22 between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. The tires are valued at $240.

ID theft

On Oct. 17 at 8 p.m., a complainant reported losing her wallet in the parking area of 300 Merrick Rd in Lynbrook. According to police, the victim’s debit card was then used to make purchases totaling $393.99.

Larceny
 Between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 17, an in-dash Navigation/Stereo system
and rear bench seat was taken from a 2007 Chevy Tahoe which was parked on Scranton Ave at Piccadilly Downs in Lynbrook. According to police, the value of On Oct. 17 at 5:00 p.m., a wallet containing ID and credit cards was taken from the vicinity of 77 Wood Street in Lynbrook.

No reports of arrests or occurences were reported to the Herald for East Rockaway or Bay Park by Nassau County’s 4th Precinct for the week ending Oct. 18.
