Crime Watch: Lynbrook, East Rockaway

Criminal mischief
Between 5 and 8:45 p.m. on Oct. 19, a vehicle was keyed by an unknown person(s) while parked on Ocean Avenue in East Rockaway.

Between 8 p.m. and 7 a.m., on Oct. 23, an unknown person(s) caused damage to a water fountain on Front Street in East Rockaway.

Between 4:15 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. on Oct. 21, a 1998 Ford Mustang was scratched with an unknown object while parked on Hollywood Avenue in Lynbrook. Damage was valued at $400, police said.

Between 11:06 p.m. on Oct. 24 and 7:10 a.m. on Oct. 25, a 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier was scratched with an unknown object and the driver’s door lock was damaged while the car was parked at the Bristal at Lynbrook, 8 Freer Street. According to police, the damage is valued $275.

On Oct. 25 at 9:35 a.m., acomplainant reported that between 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 19 and 9 a.m. on Oct. 20, a rear tire on their 2009 Chrysler Town and Country was damaged, along with a large pumpkin, which was on their front lawn, on Holmes Place in Lynbrook. Damage is valued at $165, police said.

Arrests
On Oct. 26 at 12:30 a.m., a 29-year-old Lynbrook woman was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated on Broadway in Lynbrook.

On Oct. 26 at 4:15 a.m., a 33 year old Maspeth woman was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation in the second degree and operating a motor vehicle without a rear protection device (bumper) on Merrick Road in Lynbrook.

On Oct. 26 at 1:10 p.m., a 58-year-old North Bergen NJ man was arrested and charged with for petit larceny and possession of burglar’s tools at Rite Aid, 400 Sunrise Hwy. in Lynbrook.


Burglary

Between 6:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 28, an unknown person(s) pried open a rear window on Waterview Place in Lynbrook. The unidentified person(s) removed assorted electronic equipment valued at $4080, 15 pairs of sneakers valued at $4,500, and $470 in assorted bills. for a total loss is $9,050.

Lost property
On Oct. 20, Legacy Infiniti, Sunrise Hwy. in Lynbrook, reported the loss of six NYS In-Transit license plates since its last audit in 2008.
Petit larceny

At 11:15am on Oct. 25, it was reported that a middle-aged, white male, 6 feet tall, with a thin build, short gray hair wearing blue jeans, blue buttoned-down shirt and a black winter coat removed 13 items from Rite Aid, 400 Sunrise Hwy in Lynbrook without paying for them. According to police, the total amount of the items is $88.67.

Between 5:15 a.m. and 9 p.m. on Oct. 27, a 24” Redline Men’s bicycle was stolen from the LIRR station at Sunrise Highway and Peninsula Boulevard in Lynbrook. According to police, the bicycle was secured to the staircase located at Broadway and Saperstein Plaza.
