Man gets away on foot

A man wearing a navy blue hooded jacket, a Yankees baseball cap, and sunglasses, entered the Bank of America on Main Street in East Rockaway on Monday and presented a note to the teller demanding money, according to police. “This is not the first time that this bank has been robbed,” said a store owner across the street from the bank. “They need to do something.” The fourth precinct robbery squad reported that the man, who is described as white, about 5’ 9” tall with a thin build, fled on foot in an unknown direction after obtaining an unknown amount of cash. There were five employees and three customers present at the time of the robbery. No injuries were reported. Detectives ask anyone with information about the robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
