East Rockaway Fire Department honors two for 50 years of service

The East Rockaway Fire Department recognized Honorary Commissioner John Van Houten and Honorary Chief Pete Dixon for their 50 years of service to the department in a special celebration held on Sunday, July 22.
“It is a privilege for the East Rockaway Fire Department to honor these two gentlemen for their service to the residents of our community over the past fifty years,” said Chief Steve Torborg. “They exemplify the dedication and devotion our volunteer members put forth every single day, and we are extremely proud to recognize their achievement.”
