About 60 of East Rockaway’s Rhame Avenue Elementary School’s former and present staff, teachers, and students were on hand to dig up an interesting artifact — they unearthed a time capsule that was buried in 1982.
“It was very exciting,” said Principal Laura Guggino. “We didn’t know what to expect!”
Inside the capsule were school reports, newspapers, cassette tapes, and students’ stories about a typical day in 1982. A number of teachers and students who were at Rhame when the capsule was buried were present.
