Light Rain Lynbrook Fire Department responds to car fire

Lynbrook firefighters and police officers responded to a reported car fire on Atlantic Avenue near Merrick Road on Oct. 24, shortly before 8 a.m.
The first arriving police officer used his car extinguisher before firefighters arrived and stretched a hose line to extinguish the fire in the engine compartment.
Under the command of Chief Michael Brooks, the firefighters were on the scene for about 30 minutes.
The occupants of the vehicle escaped the burning car without injury.
