Patrick Joseph O’Looney Jr., lovingly known by all as “P.J.,” a longtime resident of Long Beach, born in the Bronx, passed away Dec. 13 at the age of 87.

Born July 20, 1936, P.J. enjoyed fishing, boating, the New York Mets, his many friends at Shine’s, and traveling, much of which he did through his 27-year career with Air Canada. P.J. was most proud of his service in the United States Marine Corps.

He loved his faith and Irish heritage. P.J. is survived by his loving sister, Jacqueline O’ Looney, of British Columbia, his longtime Long Beach buddy Bob Rhule, of Florida, Pat Kabelka of Massapequa Park, Conrad and Danka Karsen of Toronto, Mary O’Connor, a Long Beach boating friend of New Jersey and Stella Magic of Kelowna.

The O’Looney family sends their “thank you’s” to the staff at Park Ave Extended Care in Long Beach who cared for P.J. the last three years. P.J., with his generous spirit and witty sense of humor will be sorely missed.

PJ’s Ceremony will be private. Donations in P.J.’s memory may be made to the VA Hospital at 79 Middleville Rd., Northport, 11768.
