Six people in Lynbrook were taken to area hospitals after a two-car accident on April 19.

The vehicles collided at approximately 8 p.m. at the intersection of Merrick Road and Ocean Avenue. After the collision, both vehicles hit poles.

The Lynbrook Fire Department, under the command of Chief Anthony DeCarlo, responded with the extrication team and two ambulances from the Emergency Medical Company, which transported three of the injured to a local hospital. The East Rockaway Fire Department, which provided mutual aid, transported the other three victims. None of the injuries were reported to be serious.

Traffic was disrupted at the scene and Merrick Road was closed for about 45 minutes.
