Three run unopposed for Lynbrook school board

Three Lynbrook School Board members are running unopposed for re-election on May 15.
    Trustees Rob Paskoff and Sean Strife are running for their second and third terms, respectively, while Board President Cathy Papandrew is seeking her fourth term. rently raising families in the area.
    The Herald asked the three seasoned board members about their time on the board, their goals for the next three years and some of the potential obstacles in their ways.

Cathy Papandrew
Age: 48
Fifth year as board president
First elected in 2003
Family: Husband, Paul; daughter, Cassie; Son, Paul
Career: Social worker
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in social welfare from Adelphi University; Masters Degree in social work from Adelphi University; Masters Degree in public administration from New York University
Other organizations: Girl Scouts ELLM since 1996; Cub Scouts; founder and director of Lynbrook Fly with the Owls from 2005-09

Rob Paskoff
Age: 53
First elected in 2006
Family: Wife, Jayne; son, Jeremy; Daughter, Rose; son, Walter
Career: Pediatric physical therapist
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in physical therapy from Ithaca College; Master’s Degree in movement sciences from teacher’s college Columbia University; Certificate in fundraising management from Molloy College
Other organizations: Coach for Lynbrook/East Rockaway Soccer Club; coach basketball team for St. Raymond’s CYO
Graduated Lynbrook High School in 1976 after attending Marion Street Elementary School and Lynbrook South Middle School



Sean Strife

Age: 53
First elected in 2009
Family: Wife, RoseAnne; Daughter, Tori; Son, Dylan; Son, Thomas.
Education: Nassau Community College, Associates Degree in Liberal Arts
Career: Licensed New York State public insurance adjuster with Friedman and Levine in Valley Stream
Other organizations: Commissioner on Nassau County Bridge Authority for eight years, oversaw the budget and finances of Atlantic Beach Bridge; PTA council for three years; Marion Street Compact Committee for three years
Graduated Lynbrook High School in 1976 after attending Marion Street Elementary School and Lynbrook South Middle School
