Collector’s Car Show
Whether you want to spend a great day admiring beautiful collector cars or listening to music or both, the Town of Hempstead’s annual Seaside Car Show is the place to be. Vintage car enthusiasts will want to check out the many classic cars on display. Awards are given to top cars. Local bands Devotions and Risky Business perform, and the beach beckons.

Yo Gabba Gabba Live!
On the heels of receiving two Daytime Emmy nominations, a Season 4 pickup from Nickelodeon and phenomenal reponse to their live tour of Australia, Yo Gabba Gabba! rocks the preschool and young adult set as part of their current North American tour. Hip hop legend Biz Markie and Razzle Dazzle Gabba favorite Leslie Hall join DJ Lance Rock and a cast of colorful characters, including Brobee, the little green one; Foofa, the pink flower bubble; Muno, the red Cyclops; Toodee, the blue cat-dragon; and Plex, the yellow robot. The state-of-the-art, high-energy production features a mix of classic Yo Gabba Gabba! favorites, as well as new songs and
performances.

Parrot Expo 2011
See birds, birds and more birds at the annual Parrot Expo, presented by the Long Island Parrot Society. It’s billed as Long Island’s only major exotic bird event. There’s fun for all with educational presentations, interactive displays, “parrotphernalia,” children’s activities, and many colorful birds to see and purchase. Meet avian behavior expert Dr. Susan Friedman, who gives a 90 minute presentation on parrot behavior management, among other workshops.
