Woman struck by hit-and-run driver in East Rockaway

A woman was struck by a car in a hit and run while crossing Main Street in East Rockaway on Aug. 11 at 8:15 a.m.

According to the Nassau County Police Department, a 30-year-old woman was crossing the street near the intersection of Rhame Avenue when she was hit by a black Jeep Cherokee traveling westbound. The drivere did not stop and left the scene. The victim suffered multiple trauma injuries and was transported by an NCPD ambulance to a nearby hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.
