Nassau police are seeking the public’s help to identify two men who allegedly scammed $239,500 from a 70-year-old Elmont resident. Police describe one of the men who is allegedly involved to be a 5’9” white man with a stocky build who is approximately 50 to 60 years old.

Elizabeth Forbes, of Elmont, arguing against the Elmont Memorial Library board’s decision to discontinue hosting early voting after electioneering during early voting before last fall’s election caused unsafe conditions in the parking lot. The library’s role as an early voting location helps seniors and others participate in the democratic process, Forbes said at the board’s meeting on Jan. 25.
