Christopher Diaz was arrested over two years after he burglarized the home of an elderly Elmont resident.

Police on Sept. 5 apprehended a Corona man who they say broke into a home of an elderly resident on June 30, 2011 and stole an unknown amount of jewelry, personal paper and credit cards.

According to detectives, Christopher Diaz, 26, damaged a window of a home belonging to a 71-year old woman on Wellington Road. Police say that Diaz, once inside, stole credit cards, personal papers and an unknown amount of jewelry and left the home. Investigation continued for two years and Diaz was arrested at his home on Sept. 5.

Diaz is charged with second-degree burglary and was arraigned in First District Court, in Hempstead, in Sept. 6.
