Carey April Seniors of the Month

H. Frank Carey High School has named Francesca Cozza and Steven Mitchell as Seniors of the Month for April.

Cozza is described as a kind-hearted senior who goes above and beyond in all she does. Her academic excellence has been recognized by her induction into the National, Science and Foreign Language honor societies, as well as becoming an AP Scholar with Distinction. This young lady is a talented athlete and spirited leader, who served as captain of the varsity soccer team and was recognized as a Nassau County All-Star. Cozza plays travel soccer and is a referee and coach to younger soccer players. She also plays varsity golf, manages the boys varsity lacrosse team and is a member of Mathletes, LOG and 21st Century Scholars. Additionally, she is president of the Lady Striker Soccer Club, a volunteer at Franklin General Hospital and a tutor to younger students. Cozza will continue her studies at SUNY Binghamton this fall.

Mitchell is ranked in the top 10 of his class and is a president of the Science Honor Society, as well as a member of the National, Math and Foreign Language honor societies. He is a skilled and talented athlete who plays on the varsity soccer and varsity track teams. He also works as a referee for the Long Island Junior Soccer League and plays the drums in a band. This senior is highly involved in many school activities as a member of the Mathletes, Robotics Club, I & A program and the Chess club. Mitchell will be attending SUNY Binghamton in the fall.
