Cigar shop in Franklin Square robbed at gunpoint

An unidentified man robbed the 197 Cigar Shop on Franklin Avenue in Franklin Square at gunpoint Saturday morning.

The man demanded cash from the clerk at the cigar shop while he brandished a handgun around 9 a.m. on Oct. 7, Nassau police said. The clerk complied and gave the robber an unknown amount of money from the registers. The unidentified man was last seen running from the store, headed southbound on Franklin Avenue.

Police said the robber was approximately 5’6”-5’8”, heavy set, wore a black hooded sweatshirt, black hat, black pants, black sneakers, gloves and a camouflage face mask.
