District students shine at winter concert

Beautiful music filled the air when students from the Elmont Union Free School District performed at the annual All District Winter Concert, held on Dec. 9 at the Elmont Public Library.

The concert featured exuberant musical performances from students in the district’s string ensemble, chorus and Jazz Masters as well as two songs by eighth-grade chorus students from Elmont Memorial High School. Those in attendance enjoyed listening to up-beat song selections, including “Feliz Navidad,” “Up on the Roof,” and “Kwanzaa Celebration,” under the direction of district music teachers.

Members of the Board of Education along with Superintendent of Schools Al Harper commend the students on their outstanding performances.
