Fog/Mist Elmont PTAs host Founders Day event

The Elmont Interschool Council of Parent-Teacher Associations, which includes the Clara H. Carlson, Covert Avenue, Dutch Broadway, Gotham Avenue, Stewart Manor and Alden Terrace schools, hosted a celebration for Founders Day, the birthday of the national PTA, on Thursday, Feb. 10, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The event was held at the Covert Avenue School, located at 144 Covert Ave. in Elmont.
The Covert Avenue PTA’s next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 17, at 7:30 p.m., in the Covert Avenue School cafeteria.
The Covert Avenue PTA will also be kicking off Parents As Reading Partners, a two-week program where parents and other members of the community come to Covert Avenue to read to students, on Monday, Feb. 28.
