Sanitary District 1, which pick ups the trash and recyclables in the Five Towns, is offering what it is calling “double enhanced” pre-Passover pickups on Sunday, April 21 and Monday, April from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Passover starts on the night of April 22 this year. The eight-day holiday celebrates the exodus of the ancient Hebrews from Egypt and 400 years of slavery.
Jewish households clean their homes of items — mainly food — and make way for items that are considered kosher for Passover.
