Giving Back to Community Corporation hosted its second annual Thanksgiving food drive at 31 E. Merrick Road in Valley Stream on Nov. 18.

The food drive aimed to help 50 local residents who needed help grabbing a turkey for the holiday this year. People were able to grab traditional frozen foods to prep such as a turkey, corn, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, string beans and green beans at the event.

Emilian Emeagwali, founder of the Elmont-based nonprofit plans to host another food drive ahead of the December holidays next month. Long-time contributor to the organization, Arrow Exterminating, collected food for distribution at the December event.
