Danny Green of the San Antonio Spurs hosted Team Green Basketball Academy at Floral Park Memorial High School last week for children of all skill levels, ages 5-18. The camp was offered exclusively to kids residing within the Sewanhaka Central High School District — Floral Park, Bellerose Village, Elmont, New Hyde Park, Garden City Park and Franklin Square.

Green, a former University of North Carolina star who helped the Tar Heels to a national championship, guided participants at skill stations, speed and agility work, and skills competitions and games. “I’m really excited to host a camp for Elmont residents and work with the kids of the Sewhanaka School District on improving their basketball game,” he said. “I have friends in the area and have had the pleasure of meeting a lot of people from the towns, and know how great of a place it is.
