Police seek help identifying carjackers in Elmont

Nassau police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a four men in connection with a robbery that happened in Elmont at 11 p.m. Monday night.

A 61-year-old man was entering his 2003 Toyota Camry on Elmont Road in the vicinity of Belmont Avenue when he was approached by four unidentified men. One man displayed a handgun and instructed the victim to exit his vehicle. The victim complies. The second man took the victim’s cell phone and smashed it on the ground. All of the individuals entered the Camry and fled the scene northbound on Elmont Road.

The man who displayed the handgun and the man who broke the cell phone were both described to be approximately 20 to 25 years old, black, with a thin build wearing white hooded jackets. The two other men were described as male blacks approximately 20 to 25 years old.
