Residents in Elmont and Franklin Square joined millions of others throughout the Northeast on Saturday and Sunday as they shoveled and plowed their way out of the massive snowstorm that hit on Friday night into Saturday morning. While kids and the young at heart had fun in the snow, for all it was a major challenge. Warmer temperatures and rain on Monday helped melt and wash away some of Nemo’s aftereffects.
