Car overturns in Cedarhurst
Driver taken to South Nassau Communities Hospital in Oceanside

Lawrence-cedarhurst firefighters rescued a woman from her overturned car in Cedarhurst.

A late model sedan driven by a woman who hit a tree overturned at West Broadway and Oxford Road in Cedarhurst at 10:43 a.m. on Jan. 8, according to Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Chief John McHugh.

“The car was on the driver’s side and we extricated her from the car,” said McHugh, adding that three LCFD trucks, its ambulance and 22 members responded to the scene.

The woman was taken by LCFD ambulance to South Nassau Communities Hospital in Oceanside. Her injuries were not considered serious, McHugh said.

Nassau County police also responded to the incident.
